Product notes

Ground cloves are made from dried cloves that have been finely ground. This prized spice is characterised by its powerful, warm and penetrating aroma, as well as its intense flavour with woody, slightly peppery and subtly sweet notes.

Widely used in cuisines around the world, ground cloves add depth and character to many dishes. They lend a delicious flavour to stews, marinades, sauces, stocks, meats, as well as certain vegetable and pulses-based recipes.

In baking, it is used in traditional specialities such as gingerbread, biscuits, compotes and fruit desserts. It pairs perfectly with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cardamom to create richly flavoured blends.

Tip: due to its strong aroma, use ground cloves sparingly. A small pinch is enough to add a warm, refined note to both sweet and savoury dishes.
